Manon van de Ven (1990) Heinsberg ( Germany)
My name is Manon van de Ven. I’m a dutch girl, living in Germany. I still live very near the dutch borders and have the privilege that I can cycle in the Netherlands, Belgium and of course Germany.
I started cycling around 2013. I was training for a half-marathon, but over trained myself a bit. My uncle, a runner himself, advised me to try cycling to recover faster. So I did. It resulted in my love for cycling. I do put on my running shoes every now and then, but I find cycling waaaaay more fun.
In 2014, I got my race bike. Every year I am making progress. Riding more kilometers, making bike trips, exploring new roads and countries. But most of all I got to meet the most amazing people through cycling ❤
In 2019, I did my first even bike trip. I rode 1300 km, alone, to Sweden. It was the most incredible thing I have done. In the upcoming years I hope to do a lot more of these trips, alone or together with friends. I’m honored to be part of the all Black community
Love, Manon
