Gerard Moonen (1972) Hoensbroek ( The Netherlands)
Hello friends! My name is Gérard Moonen. I started cycling at the age of 6. Artistic cycling (Google it) that is. I competed all over the world. At 18 I took up trail biking. My artistic cycling background helped a lot in trial biking.
Sadly a slipped disc ended it all. After surgery I took up road cycling for a few years and ended up leaving the sport for 25 years or so.
In june 2017 I bought a Brompton bike for my commute. That started it all over again. Immediately I remembered why I loved cycling. What fool I must have been for leaving the sport.
Now, 19 months on I lost 27 kg and in the last 12 months I clocked up more than 13.000km. So that’s my cycling story…
Ride on!
