Olga Ramírez , Almuñécar ( Spain)
My name is Olga Ramirez, Andalusian of Almuñécar – Granada, ( Spain) situated in the Costa Tropical area, where we enjoy a subtropical microclimate, with more than 300 days of sunshine a year and 20 degrees on average, which makes it a cycling paradise.I have two daughters and my job consists of selling, reforming and decorating properties, luxury rental and maintenance. The great thing about my job is that it allows me to work from anywhere at any time and gives me a lot of freedom to organize my life.
The bad thing about it, is that you are always available, at night, weekends etc and in the end this affects you because it’s hard to disconnect completely.
My passion for cycling started two years ago, I was looking to find something that would clear my mind and help me focus on other things. I was going through a bad time, I was discouraged and sad.
I had never ridden a bike before, but my partner did, I saw him leave every day and come back so happy… and that made me think that maybe this could work for me too.First I bought a MTB bike and from the first moment it was great, I felt good !!
One of my clients had a road bike in his garage, I borrowed it for a few days to try and that’s how it all started !!
Since then cycling has become part of my life. It makes me feel good and happy, enjoying the beautiful landscapes when I’m riding. I like the people I have met through cycling and helped me discover more self-confidence which I didn’t think I had. Now I feel strong and I like that.
I am not a professional cyclist, I just enjoy moments, going out and shooting pics with friends, discovering new places and sharing my experiences with other people with the same passion as me. My friends and I love “Cicloturistas» race and this keeps us motivated, we love to go to Pamplona for «La Indurain» , it is a fantastic experience , all of us in the van with our bikes and probably with the same emotion than professional cyclists….
I hope to continue making progress on my level to become a better cyclist.
It’s a great honor to be part of this team and looking forward to showing my passion to all of you.
