Fabio Corbellini (1975) Corbetta (Italia)
Hello , My name is Fabio Corbellini and I was born on the 2nd of November 1975 right after Queen Bohemian Rapshody wasreleased. I live in a little city in Italy called Corbetta.
Who am I? I am a traveler who has found a bicycle in his hands. I’ve played different sports in my life: football, basketball , wingchun and in recent years I started running (1000/1200 km yearly) and cycling. I am an active person and moreover I am a lonelytraveler.
I BELIEVE IN SLIDING DOORS
I’ve visited 59 countries in my life , most of which were by myselfand I would like to tell you why. I believe in “sliding doors”. Onemoment you find yourself at the right place at the right time and your life changes forever. I started to travel alone more than 20 years ago because my “beloved” girlfriend left me and I didntknow what to do. With a broken heart and a confused mind I tookmyself to a tourist agency and walked out with a flight ticket for the next day. I spent a great time in Ireland that summer and a voice told me: you did it once, you can do it again”
40 YEARS IS A LIFE ELEVATOR
But time marches on and 59 countries and 20 years later I stillhave an old MTB that I bought in 1992 . Thanks to this old heavypiece of aluminum I’ve climbed some of the most historic Alpine passes , reaching altitudes of almost 3000 meters amongstsummer snowfield landscapes, Blue skies and nothing but silencefrom the high mountains. When you reach 2000 meters you can breath a pure breeze. Nothing but fresh air from then on up.
Now “she’s” 26 years old , I rarely use her and I have a new MTB since I’ve come to meet a person who lives close to me whocustomizes little jewels (@dream_bikes_bike_jewellery) and with him my passion for 2 wheels humanly propelled and has keptgrowing during the last 5 years. Another “sliding doors”
CYCLING IN MY LIFE.
What does cycling represent in my life? Lots of things, not just a sport: Living close to the Alps gives me the chance to ride throughbeautiful landscapes and I can disconnect my mind from everything. When I use my MTB and it is a nice day, I forgetabout all else. You learn the concept of never giving up when the top of the climb is far away. It’s a school of life at a certain point.
I am no technical expert of this discipline , I care more about the emotions ,don’t ask me to train on bike rollers. I prefer to alternate with running during the winter season.
I couldn’t travel during the last 2 years due to different life adversities like the loss of my father a few months ago.
But now I feel ready to do it again and maybe with my bicycle thistime . During a climb it’s the last km that is the best and you feelexcited achieving your goal , when you travel the last day is yourbest because you lock your memories into a box that no one can steal: that’s your heart
Now I’ve got to go to sleep . Tomorrow I will wake up early and go cycling
