Hi there,

my name is Anna and I am a Polish girl living in Aachen, Germany, right between the Netherlands, Belgium and the beautiful regions of the Eifel and the Ardennes. It is a perfect place to ride, full of dark forests, narrow roadsand countless steep and brutal ramps rather than gentlerolling hills. A real playground for anyone who lovesclimbing. I am lucky enough to be married to anothercyclist, so there are never any discussions about wherefree time should go. I work in healthcare, which makestime on the bike even more valuable as a balance toeveryday life.

Before cycling became my main passion, I was a runner. I raced distances from 10 km up to half marathons and loved the competitive side of it. Over time runningbecame too hard on my joints, so in 2015 I switched tocycling. What started as an alternative quickly turnedinto something much bigger. In 2017 I rode my first real bikepacking adventure, crossing several countries fromMarseille to Split. That journey changed everything.

What I love most about cycling is the feeling ofautonomy. Being able to reach remote places far awayfrom everyday noise, sleeping outside in nature and not knowing where I will end up at night is where the real adventure begins for me. Multi week bikepacking tripsare not just travel, they are a mental and physicalchallenge that teaches you a lot about yourself. Over thelast years I also started racing ultracycling events, because adding competition gives everything an extra edge.

I am most at home in mountainous and remote regions. The Eifel and Ardennes are my local playground, but I also love places like the Tabernas desert and the Sierra Nevada in Spain and especially the wild landscapes ofthe Balkans. My absolute favorite region is the ScottishHighlands. Looking ahead, my big dream is to ride thePanamericana from Alaska to Patagonia and that isexactly what I am working towards in the coming years.

The cycling community means a lot to me. On a bike itdoes not matter where you come from or who you are. Everyone shares the same passion for riding. Through cycling I have built friendships in many different countries that I still cherish today. Being part of AllblackCycling Club feels like a natural extension of that global community.
